A WORD FROM DAVE:
Most people believe that Diabetes is an inconvenience, not a disease.
In fact, when I ask most type 2 Diabetics what the worst part of being Diabetic is - they tell me, “Having to test my blood sugar so often” and “Having to medicate [often times] with needles.”
When I ask them what their greatest concern about growing old with Diabetes is, they answer, “That I won’t be able to eat whatever I want."
You see, no one seems to be aware of the fact that Diabetes leads to, and is the leading cause of, many serious conditions that can destroy your quality of life - and even end your life prematurely.
When diabetes goes untreated, one is at a great risk of the following medical tragedies (and by “treated” we do not mean simply taking your medication but rather taking the necessary steps to control your Diabetes):
- Blindness - The USA’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) says “Diabetes is the leading cause of new cases of blindness among adults aged 20–74 years.”
- Renal failure - The CDC says, “Diabetes is the leading cause of kidney failure, accounting for 44% of all new cases of kidney failure in 2008.”
- Nerve Damage and Impotence - According to the CDC,” diabetic nerve damage is a problem for many people with diabetes…Nerve damage can lead to other problems. Some people develop problems swallowing and keeping food down. [It] can also cause bowel problems…and lead to bladder and kidney infections. Many people with nerve damage have trouble having sex. For example, men can have…a problem called impotence (erectile dysfunction).
- Gum Disease - The CDC says, “Periodontal (gum) disease is more common in people with diabetes. Among young adults, those with diabetes have about twice the risk of those without diabetes.”
- Amputations - Non-traumatic amputations - of fingers, toes, and even feet and other major limbs - is also most commonly attributed to being a result of type 2 diabetes. The CDC says, “In 2006, about 65,700 non-traumatic lower-limb amputations were performed in people with diabetes.”
- Increased risk for certain Cancers - please see article below!
- Death - The CDC reports that Diabetes is currently the 7th leading cause of death.
It is for these reasons that I feel compelled to offer some assistance to those who would seek to improve their lives by controlling their diabetes...
I would like to site two recent studies – one is from UCLA (now about 5 years old) which showed that eating a diet that included 5 whole grains, 4 servings of green veggies, 3 dark pigmented fruits, 2 servings of lean protein and an hour of exercise a day while eliminating sources of empty, simple carbohydrates could cure diabetes in as little as 3 weeks: http://jap.physiology.org/content/100/5/1657.abstract
The 2nd study was released a few weeks ago and showed that a 600 calorie-a-day diet could cure it in a similar time frame: http://www.guardian.co.uk/society/2011/jun/24/low-calorie-diet-hope-cure-diabetes
However, the discipline or the guidelines necessary to accomplish this may be intimidating for most people, especially those whose poor dietary practices have led them to develop type 2 to begin with!
In that regard, Purium offers a couple proprietary solutions that make taking control of Diabetes FAR easier - we have an incredible 600 calorie per day fasting regimen (Purium's Anabolic Fast http://www.phporder.com/FastingProducts.aspx?ID=www) that has been safely used by thousands of people AND a Diabetic support product called Scoop of Greens™ (more info below) that is specifically designed to provide an easy access to the whole grain and green vegetable superfoods that are exactly what most Diabetics are looking for.
I encourage anyone who is diabetic, or who knows a diabetic, to not waste one more day - start taking the steps NOW to protect you and your loved ones from the terrible impact of this silent killer.

Diabetics twice as likely to develop cancer, suggests new study
by Jonathan Benson, staff writer
(NaturalNews) A new study published in the journal Diabetes Care reveals that diabetics have a nearly doubled risk of developing certain types of cancer compared to those without the disease. Dr. Chaoyang Li from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in Atlanta, Ga., and his colleagues found that 16 percent of diabetic men and 17 percent of diabetic women develop cancer, while only seven and ten percent of the general population, respectively, develop it.
"The significant association between cancer and diabetes does not surprise us," Dr. Li is quoted as saying in a recent FOX News piece. Dr. Li and his team surveyed 400,000 adults by phone, and after accounting for external factors like age, race, and smoking and drinking habits, they determined that diabetics are far more prone to develop colon, pancreas, rectum, urinary bladder, kidney, breast and prostate cancers, than is the rest of the population.
The report explains that the most dramatic increase is seen in those with pancreatic cancer, as diabetic men appear to be 400 percent more likely to develop the cancer than others. And in women, those with diabetes tended to be up to three times more likely to develop blood cancer than women without the disease.
"[The study] shows there's a substantial pool of American adults who have diabetes and cancer," said Dr. Fred Brancati, a professor at Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, Md., who was not involved with the study. "The authors rightly point out that these two conditions go together beyond chance alone, so it pays to think about them together."
Research Dr. Brancati published in 2008 revealed that the death rate from cancer is about 40 percent higher in diabetics than it is in the general population as well, illustrating once again a clear connection between diabetes and compounded cancer risk.
